The Host
Creates the game lobby, decides the secret words or phrases, starts each round, reveals the answers, and controls the podium finale.
The Player
Scans the room QR code or enters the 4-letter code on their mobile device or computer, enters their name, and guesses in real time.
Spectator (TV Display)
Broadcast mode built for large TV screens, stage projectors, or livestreams. Completely hides secret answers from audience view.
Host Guide
How to run a seamless, exciting game session
Instant Room Creation
On the main page, click "Create Game Lobby" under the Host card. You do not need to enter any secret word yet! The game instantly generates a unique 4-character room code (e.g. abcd) and a shareable QR code.
Share Code & QR Code
Display the room code or QR code on screen, or click the copy buttons to send direct join links to your WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, or Teams chat. As players join, your host lobby updates in real time showing their names and active player count.
Start the Action
When everyone is ready, click "Start Round 1". A modal prompts you for the secret answer and an optional Question / Clue. You can even accept multiple valid answers by separating them with / (e.g. eight / 8 / 8.0 or Bandar Seri Begawan / BSB) so players who guess any variation are scored as correct!
Real-Time Host Dashboard
Watch guesses stream in live! The host screen highlights correct answers in bright green and calculates exact submission speeds (e.g., 12.4s).
Multi-Round Gameplay
When enough players have guessed or time is up, click "Reveal Secret Answer" to stop guesses and show the answer to everyone. Then click "Next Round", type in the next secret answer, and keep the excitement rolling!
Podium Ceremony
When all rounds are completed, click "End Game". The system calculates the top performers based on total correct rounds and cumulative reaction times, triggering an animated 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Podium with confetti! On the podium screen, the host can click "📥 Export Results (.txt)" to download a complete CSV-formatted text file (guess-result-[code].txt) of all final player rankings, scores, and reaction times.

Join the Room
Simply scan the QR code projected on screen with your phone camera, or visit guess.co.bn, type the 4-character room code, and tap "Join Game". No download or app installation required.
Set or Change Your Name Anytime
Enter your player nickname. Made a typo or want a funnier name? Click the ✏️ Change button in the player header or profile card anytime to update your nickname instantly.
Guess Fast!
When the round starts, type your guess and submit by clicking "Submit Guess" or simply pressing the Enter / Return key on your keyboard. You can guess multiple times if you don't get it right immediately. As soon as you hit the secret answer, your status lights up green: 🎉 Correct! You scored a point! Your reaction time is recorded instantly.
Accumulate Points Across Rounds
Stay tuned as the host starts subsequent rounds. Your total score and reaction speeds accumulate throughout the game session toward the final podium standings.

Why Use Spectator Mode?
When presenting a live game in front of an audience or casting to an office TV, the host screen should never be projected because the host screen displays the secret answer! Spectator mode gives you a dedicated audience view that is safe to display on the biggest screen in the room.

Scoring & Tie-Breaking Rules
How winners and podium ranks are determined
1 Point Per Correct Round
Every player who submits the correct secret answer during an active round receives 1 point. Players who do not find the answer before the round is revealed or ended score 0 points for that round.
Speed Tie-Breaker (Reaction Time)
If two or more players finish with the same total points, ties are automatically broken by their cumulative reaction speed (in seconds) from the moment each round started to when their correct guess was submitted. The faster thinker takes the podium!
🔍 Example Tie-Break Scenario
Player A and Player B both score 3 out of 3 points. Player A answered in 4.2s, 8.1s, and 5.3s (Total: 17.6s). Player B answered in 6.0s, 10.2s, and 7.5s (Total: 23.7s). Player A wins 1st Place on the podium because of faster cumulative speed!
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions, rules, and host tips
How does secret answer matching work? What about symbols and spaces? ▼
Answers are completely case-insensitive, and all symbols, punctuation (dots, commas, hyphens, apostrophes, etc.), and spaces are automatically ignored anywhere in the answer! For example, if the secret answer is Dr. Who, Jr., guesses like drwhojr, dr who jr, or Dr. Who Jr. will all match 100%!
Can the secret answer reveal automatically once all players submit? ▼
Yes! When starting a round, the host can tick the "⚡ Automatically reveal secret answer once all players submit" checkbox. Alternatively, hosts can toggle this mode on or off at any moment using the Auto-Reveal button on the host dashboard.
Are player nicknames unique in each room? ▼
Yes! Every player in a session room must have a unique nickname to prevent confusion on the live scoreboard and podium. If someone has already claimed a nickname in that room, the system will prompt you to pick a unique name. (The same nickname can still be used in different game rooms).
Can I accept multiple answers for a single question? ▼
Yes! In either the secret answer input field or your imported Quiz Pack, separate acceptable variants using a forward slash /. For example, entering eight / 8 / 8.0 will mark any player who submits "eight", "8", or "8.0" as correct!
How does the Quiz Pack automated import work? ▼
Hosts can click "Import Pack" in their host dashboard and paste all rounds formatted with q: for questions and a: for answers.
Once loaded, the session runs completely hands-free! When all players submit, the answer reveals automatically, a 5-second countdown timer displays on all player and projector screens, and the next round starts automatically until all rounds are done.
Can players see the answer by inspecting the web page? ▼
No! Guesses are validated server-side on the backend. The secret answer is never delivered to players' or spectators' browsers until the host explicitly hits "Reveal Secret Answer".
What happens if a player accidentally refreshes or loses connection? ▼
The player session and token are securely remembered in the browser. If a player accidentally refreshes or their phone screen dims, reopening the page automatically restores their session, name, and round status!
Best tips for Game Hosts? ▼
1. Keep answers punchy: 1 to 3 words usually work best (e.g. popular food, movie titles, company memes, celebrities).
2. Give verbal or written clues: You can give clues aloud to your audience or type them in your presentation slide as the timer ticks down.
3. Use Spectator mode on the big screen: Open spectator mode on the conference TV/projector and keep host controls on your phone or laptop.
